Our Subcommittees
We have four active subcommittees working to accomplish our goals.
Research Subcommittee
Research Subcommittee. The focus of the Research Subcommittee is to promote research initiatives and collaborations within the SIG, as well as within the broader SPP membership. Our goals are to: 1) Identify critical directions for caregiver wellbeing research through engagement with members of the SIG, members of SPP broadly, and caregivers and other stakeholders. 2) Support members in initiating and conducting collaborative research projects that align with the identified critical directions for caregiver wellbeing research (e.g., through multisite studies, collaborative literature reviews).
Outreach Subcommittee
Outreach Subcommittee. The focus of the Outreach Subcommittee is to promote engagement between the SIG, caregivers, and other stakeholders. Our goals are to: 1) Identify ways that the SIG can partner with caregivers and other key stakeholders to disseminate evidence-based information about caregiver wellbeing. 2) Develop a resource repository that is public-facing and can direct caregivers and other stakeholders to evidence-based caregiver wellbeing resources.
Education Subcommittee
Education Subcommittee. The focus of the Education Subcommittee is to support training in caregiver wellbeing for trainees and professionals across the career span through specialized professional development and learning experiences (e.g., webinars, continued education). Our goals are to: 1) Advocate for training in caregiver wellbeing (i.e., adults), particularly within graduate training programs, by developing educational resources and creating mentorship opportunities for trainees. 2) Develop and disseminate trainings in evidence-based caregiver interventions to learners at all levels.
Clinical Practice Subcommittee
Clinical Practice Subcommittee. The focus of the Clinical Practice Subcommittee is to assemble and disseminate evidenced based approaches and tools for caregiver psychosocial wellbeing for clinical providers and organizations. Our goals are to: 1) Facilitate clinical collaborations by creating shared resources, establishing best practice guidelines for caregiver wellbeing, and providing opportunities for networking. 2) Facilitate cross-institutional communication about program development and infrastructure to promote integration of caregiver wellbeing into pediatric psychology services.
